scy<p>My <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats</span></a> track number&nbsp;11 is "Flourish", a somewhat minimal, (literally) liquid d&amp;b track with some outdoor sounds sprinkled in.</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/scy/music/flourish" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">weeklybeats.com/scy/music/flou</span><span class="invisible">rish</span></a></p><p>Liquid is one of my favorite genres, and it was fun to produce this one, walking around with the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/SynthstromDeluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SynthstromDeluge</span></a> playing in my bag, walking in tempo. :)</p><p>With a bit more time, this would've been a better (and longer) track, but this is the time I had, and it's the track I got.</p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/DrumAndBass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DrumAndBass</span></a></p>
scy<p>With 2½&nbsp;minutes left before the deadline, I've uploaded <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats</span></a> track 08, "Headache".</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/scy/music/headache" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">weeklybeats.com/scy/music/head</span><span class="invisible">ache</span></a></p><p>Definitely getting more confident with the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/M8Tracker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>M8Tracker</span></a>. I love some of the possibilities it brings to the table, especially when it comes to complex sequencing, but on the other hand I find it so tedious to enter notes, even when using MIDI. Let's see whether I find a good way to combine it with the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Deluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Deluge</span></a> and get the best of both worlds.</p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a></p>
scy<p>Okay, so <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats</span></a> number&nbsp;5 is "Float", a short (1:08) track that's heavily inspired by the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/StrangerThings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StrangerThings</span></a> intro.</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/scy/music/float" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">weeklybeats.com/scy/music/floa</span><span class="invisible">t</span></a></p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Deluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Deluge</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/SynthstromDeluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SynthstromDeluge</span></a></p>
scy<p>New <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats</span></a> track!</p><p>"Chapter Four" sees me dipping my toes into <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/LoFi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LoFi</span></a> territory&nbsp;– and petroleum refining.</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/scy/music/chapter-four" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">weeklybeats.com/scy/music/chap</span><span class="invisible">ter-four</span></a></p><p>This is yet another standalone <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Deluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Deluge</span></a> track. It's being carried almost exclusively by <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Freesound" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Freesound</span></a> samples, but after browsing samples for half a day I have to say that sample selection is work, too.</p><p>It also made me appreciate commercial sample collections more, because the quality at Freesound is mostly&nbsp;… mediocre.</p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/SynthstromDeluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SynthstromDeluge</span></a></p>
scy<p>Here's my second <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats</span></a> track, called "Glacier".</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/scy/music/glacier" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">weeklybeats.com/scy/music/glac</span><span class="invisible">ier</span></a></p><p>I set out to make a track about the cold weather outside and accidentally ended up making it about climate change. 🤷‍♂️ (In my head at least, and you can interpret the sounds accordingly, but it's not like it has any lyrics or something.)</p><p>Fun fact: The speakers on my smartphone are completely unable to play the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Booj" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Booj</span></a> sounds in the song 😂 It's as if they aren't there.</p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a></p>
scy<p>By the way, here's the track I've produced last week for <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats</span></a>:</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/scy/music/overture" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">weeklybeats.com/scy/music/over</span><span class="invisible">ture</span></a></p><p>I'm very open to feedback, even if it's about things you don't like, as long as you're not being a dick about it.</p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Deluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Deluge</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/SynthstromDeluge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SynthstromDeluge</span></a></p>
scy<p>Installed the Deluge community firmware, hoping that its new Automation View will alleviate this at least to a degree.</p><p>Also, reminder that if you'd like to join <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> and have a full "streak" throughout the whole year (not that it's required or anything), today is the last day where you can join. You've got a little less than 12&nbsp;hours to finish your track.</p><p>(This also means that _I_ have a little less than 12&nbsp;hours to finish my track. 😬)</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">weeklybeats.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a></p>
scy<p>I own several pieces of expensive music gear and never really did much with it. I _want_ to make music, but I don't actually do it, because "I don't have the time" and "other things are more important".</p><p>Well, fuck that shit.</p><p>I'll be joining <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> both as a learning journey and to have some outside pressure to produce _something_.</p><p>If you see yourself in this post, feel free to join me. Minimum track length per week is just one minute.</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">weeklybeats.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a></p>
scy<p>Holy shit I'm fucking _inspired_. I… I think I might have a track y'all…!</p><p>I mean, it needs some more variation, some mixing and effects, but I still have a week to polish it :3</p><p>So I guess I'm doing this!</p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a></p>
scy<p>"Weeklybeats is a 52 week long music project in which artists compose and publicly release 1 song a week for the entire year. Any style of music or selection of instruments are welcomed and encouraged."</p><p><a href="https://weeklybeats.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">weeklybeats.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Considering taking part in this.
