Vor einiger Zeit habe ich einen Artikel über Loops für GNU/Linux.ch geschrieben. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie sich Loops weiterentwickelt und ob es sich wirklich als eine TikTok-Alternative durchsetzen kann.

Was es da zu sehen gibt ist bisher recht fröhlich bunt chaotisch durcheinander. Wenn mehr interessante Leute wie du posten wird es vielleicht richtig gut.
Ich habe jetzt auch einen #loops Account im #Fediverse - bisher nur Ausprobiermodus, aber in jedem Fall spannend mitzuverfolgen, wie solch ein neuer Dienst entsteht. Anlass zum Start war für mich die Frage nach einer #TikTok Alternative.
Gibt es Menschen aus meiner Bubble, die schon bei loops sind ?

Loops for Android v1.0.0.13 is now available!

Loops in its current state would wreak havoc on Mastodon and other fediverse platforms that cache remote media
This is why it doesn't federate yet, and isn't fully open source.
Loops is serving TBs of video per day, and we don't even federate yet.
Which is why I'm working on a solution to minimize bandwidth, and leveraging the upcoming FediCDN initiative.
We're going to get this right, and without other fediverse servers having to pay for this expensive video federation!

We're already working on it, and can't wait to build a sustainable, long term home for our ecosystem of projects!

Bereits Ende Oktober 2024 hatte ich mich bei Loops.video registriert. Loops, von den Machern von Pixelfed (dansup), soll "DIE Alternative zu TikTok werden" – ein großes Ziel, das man sich gesetzt hat. Ich war gespannt.
